The "League Well" platform addresses a fundamental need for young professionals: an intentional community that not only advances the National Urban League’s mission but also supports leaders in developing tools and experiences to transform their lives. I aim to develop leaders who can navigate strategic planning and translate visions into actionable steps, all while fostering a deep understanding of themselves and the significant role we can play in serving others. This is accomplished through the following pillars.

Service:

Maximizing Impact

Empower affiliates for lasting impact. Leverage the National Urban League’s rich legacy of parity, equality and economic empowerment to guide us through new challenges.

Sustainability & scalability:

Cultivating Leaders who Thrive

To ensure lasting impact and a sustainable future, we must cultivate a strong leadership pipeline through interpersonal and technical skill development, quality mentorship, and executive training, positioning our network as a platform for young professionals to prepare for future board positions, corporate leadership roles, or business ventures.

Stewardship: A Thriving Organization

Empowering our people (greatest asset) through training builds strong leaders and member engagement. This leads to higher retention, attracts partners, and strengthens the Urban League. Effective management ensures long-term health. We continuously improve by partnering with affiliates and gathering stakeholder feedback.

If elected president, I will model how to “League Well” leveraging my strategic and tactical leadership experience to build upon the legacy of young professional leadership. I will commit to deeply understanding myself and others, demonstrating decisiveness ensuring actions align with the evolving needs of affiliates and communities. I am excited to cultivate insightful and agile leaders, paving the way for a sustainable NULYP future based on service, stewardship, and empowered leadership.
